Be happy or Nah....

People have placed the idea of “winning” the argument or being “right” above actually being happy. What we don’t understand is that the win or the being right isn’t worth the emotional pain we’re putting the other person through.  I’d rather be happy than right. I’d would rather be happy than to know that I caused someone I love pain because I didn’t know how to let something go. I think we make things so much more complex than they have to be and that sometimes we look for reasons to not be happy. Maybe it’s because we don’t know how to handle happiness.  Maybe we’re so used to pain and disappointment and past failures that we just aren’t sure if we deserve happiness or if its’ real, so we just make the same bad choices over and over again. Repeating the same cycle over and over.

My prayer is that we truly learn how to communicate our expectations and needs without framing everything as a battle or argument. I think the way a person bring things to a person, the words used to express ourselves, facial expressions and body movements all set the stage for battle. How we say things is just as important as the point we are trying to make. And sometimes the battle isn’t worth it and you have to just let it go. You have to choose if being right is worth your love’s happiness.

Just my thoughts on this hump day!! New posts coming soon...
